Earth, in the 29th century is still the cradle of mankind. Boosting an enormous population and one of the most impressive technological development in the Terran Democracy. Most of earth’s population is, as in the 21st century, rather poor, but improvements has been made as both China and India has become economical powerhouses. The USA lost most of its remaining influence and strength during the civil wars of the 23nd century, but they still boost an impressive population and economy. The European Union and the Scandinavian Union are close allies who act as middle hands between the USA and the rest of the world.
Being the seat of the Terran Democracy, the planet is divided into four factions (each who has a vote that is equal to another planet’s). These factions are the Western confederation (the USA, EU, the Scandinavian Union, Russia), the eastern coalition (China, India, Japan), the Oceanic Division (Australia, Oceania, Indonesia) and the Arabic foundation (most Islamic countries). There are also two minor factions who have been aspiring to get their own vote, but neither of them has had any success so far.
Interestingly enough, the two most major cities of Earth are Cairo and Rome. Babylon was, before the civil war, the third major city but much like its ancient namesake, the city was wiped out during the war and now the modern ruins tower over the ancient ones out in the desert. Rome hosts an impressive 52.000.000 inhabitants much thanks to the leveling of the ground around the city (it has overgrown the cities around it and they are now collectively known as Rome). Cairo is the seat of the Terran Democracy and its here that the meeting building is located, to some its considered a modern world wonder.
